September's Origin
September is the ninth month of the Gregorian or New Style Calendar used
today and numbers thirty (30) days. Derived from the Latin word Septem,
meaning seven, September was actually the seventh month in the ancient
Roman calendar which began in March. September was known as the
harvest month because of the harvest moon (the full moon) which gave
the farmers enough time to continue their harvests into the sunset. September
was know as Halig-monarth, or holy month, referring to the birth of Mary,
the mother of Jesus, on September 8.

Abigail was born early in the morning on September 10, 1995 to Mike and Michelle
McLagan. She was healthy from the start, although there was a brief scare about
Strep B infection and possible meningitis. Abigail and Michelle stayed in the hospital
for seven days, during which time Abigail was closely monitored. Fortunately, the
meningitis scare was unfounded and Abigail was sent home as a healthy infant.
Abigail is quite a traveller, having logged several trips to visit grandparents in both Canada
and the United States. Mom and Dad are lucky that Abigail is often content to sleep
while travelling, although the restrictive car seat is sometimes unwelcome by such an
active toddler.
As a two-year old, Abigail is generally a well-mannered, well-adjusted toddler.
Occasionally Mom and Dad see signs of the proverbial Terrible Twos, but often a
quick trip to the time-out chair will restore peace and harmony in the McLagan
household.
